My Fanatec wheel base is properly detected by my laptop, but not by my other computer?
If your Fanatec wheel base (or another Fanatec USB device) works correctly on one computer but not on another, this typically indicates that the hardware itself is not faulty.
Please try the following steps:
-
Check the USB connection. Try a different USB port on the PC where the device is not recognized or not functioning properly
-
Test without drivers. Uninstall the Fanatec drivers from the affected PC. Many devices will still appear in the Windows USB Game Controller panel even without drivers (with limited functionality). This helps determine whether the device is recognized independently of the driver.
-
Reinstall driver. If the device is recognized after removing the driver, reinstall the latest Fanatec driver and test functionality again.
- Check your system. If the issue persists, consider performing a system cleanup. In rare cases, issues with the Windows USB controller configuration can cause such issues. This may require a Windows repair or, in extreme cases, a full reinstallation. Typically, multiple USB devices would be affected in such scenarios.
If the issue persists, we recommend that you submit a ticket to our technical support team for further assistance.
