Self Help - Motor Firmware update is not possible
In order to cross out an issue on the software side, we recommend performing the following:
1. Remove any steering wheels from your wheel base.
2. Make sure to have your wheel base connected to a Windows PC via a USB connection cable. Do not use a USB hub or a USB extension cable, in order to prevent any issues. We always recommend plugging the device directly to one of the USB ports located on your PC's motherboard!
3. Check for any pending Windows updates. These should also be performed if available.
4. Reset your wheel base. By following this link, you will find a video illustrating how to perform the process.
5. Make sure to have any antivirus program(s) disabled before installing the latest Fanatec Driver Package.
6. Download and install the latest Fanatec Driver Package. You can install the latest Fanatec Driver Package via this link.
7. Open the Firmware Update Manager by clicking on the update tab in the Fanatec Control Panel, and perform all of the available firmware updates.
In case the base is not able to go in to bootloader mode and firmware update is not possible, we advise opening a support ticket. In order to speed up the process, it would be helpful if you could also provide us with the following additional information.
- Did the issue occur out of the box?
- Does a specific sequence of events need to happen for the issue to appear?
- Does the issue happen after a change in your setup, such as upgrading or replacing existing software or hardware?
- Which Fanatec Driver Package and firmware versions are currently installed? You can find the version numbers on the bottom left hand-side of the Fanatec Control Panel.
- Have you tried using an older driver and the included firmware files? If not, follow this link for alternative driver packages.
- A short video illustrating the issue.
