The CSL DD QR2L / GT DD QR2L base is no longer detecting any wheel
In order to cross out an issue on the hardware side, we recommend performing the following:
Inspect the golden connection pins at the back of the steering wheel and check for any broken or missing ones.
You may notice that one of the pins is shorter than the rest.
However, this is normal and by design.
If you have found any kind of damage, take some pictures and submit a ticket to our technical support team for further assistance.
If the pins are fine, please proceed with the next steps.
Detach the QR2(L) Base-Side of the wheel base by unscrewing the two screws that hold the plastic clamp in place, and pull the upper part upwards.
To do this, you will need an Allen key (5mm).
Now, please inspect the USB-C connector of the QR2(L) BS for any signs of damage.
Additionally, please inspect the inner USB-C port on the wheel base, where the QR2(L) BS is connected, for any signs of damage.
If you have found any kind of damage, take some pictures and submit a ticket to our technical support team for further assistance.
If the USB-C plug and USB-C slot are fine, please proceed with the next steps.
Reinstall the QR2(L) BS by following the manual linked at the bottom of this article.
Once the QR2(L) BS is re-attached, please make sure to securely tighten the plastic clamp.
We recommend using a torque wrench to tighten these screws to the factory applied 8 NM (newton meters).
In case you do not have a torque wrench on hand, please check the manual linked at the bottom of this article.
Point 5 illustrates how the clamp should look after being properly tightened.
Now, you need to inspect the screws located in and around the golden connection pins of the steering wheel and ensure that all of these screws are "hand"-tightened.
To do so, you will need two different tools: 1x Torx driver (T10) & 1x Allen key (1,5mm) for the center screw.
We recommend using a torque wrench to tighten these screws if you have one at hand.
In the picture linked at the bottom of this article, you’ll be able to see the screws in question, along with the maximum torque that should be applied to them.
On the software side, we recommend the following:
Check for any pending Windows Updates - these should also be performed if available.
Make sure to have your wheel base connected to a Windows PC via a USB connection cable.
Do not use a USB hub or a USB extension cable, in order to prevent any issues.
We always recommend plugging the device directly to one of the USB ports located on your PC's motherboard.
Make sure to have any antivirus program(s) disabled.
Download and install the latest version of the Fanatec app by following this link.
Open the Firmware Update Manager by clicking on the update tab in the Fanatec app and perform all of the available firmware updates.
Once you have performed the steps listed above, open the Fanatec app again and verify the proper functionality of your device(s).
We also suggest double-checking in game.
If the issue persists, we recommend that you submit a ticket to our technical support team for further assistance.
