My wheel base is no longer recognized after performing a firmware update
To rule out a potential hardware issue, please follow these steps:
Detach the steering wheel from the wheel base.
Inspect the USB port on the back of the wheel base and check the USB cable for any signs of damage.
Ensure a direct USB connection between the wheel base and a Windows PC.
Avoid using USB hubs or extension cables, as they can cause connectivity issues.
We strongly recommend connecting the device directly to a USB port on your PC’s motherboard.
To address possible software-related issues, please proceed as follows:
If no hardware defects are found, attempt to start the wheel base in bootloader mode.
While the wheel base is connected to your PC via USB (with the latest Fanatec app version installed), press and hold the power button for 8 seconds.
The firmware updater should appear on your PC screen, allowing you to perform an update.
After completing the update, restart the wheel base and check if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, we recommend that you submit a ticket to our technical support team for further assistance.
