What's the difference between our wheel bases?

We currently offer three tiers of wheel bases: the CSL Series, ClubSport Series, and Podium series.

CSL

The CSL series is a great starting point for those looking to transition from a controller or third-party base to serious hardware. It is ideal for users looking for solid performance and good customization options without breaking the bank. Most products within the Fanatec ecosystem supports the CSL DD series, but not all legacy wheel bases. Make sure to read the product description carefully to ensure the connections and requirements match a specific model.

The Gran Turismo DD Pro wheel base is adjacent to the CSL Series, as it offers a similar experience, with added PlayStation compatibility. 

Our current offerings include:

• CSL DD QR2
  • Performance: Available in 5 Nm and 8 Nm versions.
  • Compatibility: PC and, with the right wheel, Xbox Series. Not compatible with PlayStation.
  • Features: Ideal for beginners, offers good value for money. The compact design makes it perfect for small setups. Good customization options through the Fanatec software.
• GT DD PRO QR2
  • Performance: Available in 5 Nm and 8 Nm bundles, or standalone as 8nm.
  • Compatibility: PC and PlayStation, ideal for Gran Turismo fans.
  • Features: Developed with a focus on the needs of Gran Turismo players. Provides stable force feedback and is optimized for use in a racing simulator.

ClubSport

The ClubSport series is a high-quality product line aimed at serious sim racing enthusiasts and professional drivers. It offers several advantages over the CSL series, especially in terms of performance, materials, and customization options. This series is compatible with most Fanatec products across the range, providing a more comprehensive and premium experience for drivers willing to invest in their equipment.

• CS DD
  • Performance: Offers constant torque of up to 12 Nm.
  • Compatibility: Compatible with PC and Xbox Series.
  • Technology: Uses exclusive Full Force technology, which enhances motor efficiency and provides smoother operation (ForceFeedback 2.0), 
  • Features: Excellent balance between performance and price, ideal for ambitious sim racers seeking a serious experience.
• CS DD+
  • Performance: 15 Nm constant torque.
  • Compatibility: Compatible with PC, Xbox Series, and PlayStation (noted with the blue ring on the back).
  • Technology: Also includes Full Force technology.
  • Features: Additional PlayStation compatibility makes it versatile. Offers extensive customization options allowing drivers to configure feedback to their liking.

Podium 

The Podium series represents the absolute premium category in sim racing. It is designed for professional drivers, former racers, and highly dedicated enthusiasts who do not want to compromise on anything. The Podium series features extensive customization options, allowing every detail to be tailored individually. High-quality materials used in the automotive industry ensure durability and a professional driving experience.

• Podium DD (New!)
  • Performance: Up to 25 Nm holding torque.
  • Compatibility: Compatible with PC and Xbox Series.
  • Technology: Premium Direct Drive with FullForce technology and high responsiveness.
  • Features: Our newest offering, with the widest dynamic range ever achieved in a Fanatec Base.  Comprehensive adjustment options for personalized force feedback. High-quality materials ensure durability and a realistic driving feel. Ideal for professional applications and competitions. Includes 10 cm shaft extension.
• Podium DD1 (while supplies last)
  • Performance: Up to 20 Nm.
  • Compatibility: Compatible with PC and Xbox Series.
  • Technology: Premium Direct Drive with advanced force feedback and high responsiveness.
  • Features: Comprehensive adjustment options for personalized force feedback. High-quality materials ensure durability and a realistic driving feel. Ideal for professional applications and competitions.
• Podium DD2 (while supplies last)
  • Performance: Up to 25 Nm
  • Compatibility: Compatible with PC and Xbox Series.
  • Technology: Similar to the DD1, but with improved performance and additional fine-tuning features.
  • Features: Maximum power and customization for the most demanding drivers. Perfect for professional sim racers and e-sports competitions.

Can I Combine Fanatec Hardware With Other Brands?

Generally speaking, we don't recommend pairing a Fanatec wheel base with third-party wheels or vice versa. Third Party wheel rims are compatible with the Universal Hubs and Podium Hub, so long as they use the standard 6x70mm or 3x50mm bolt patterns.

On PC, Fanatec pedals with a USB Port (e.g. the CSL Load Cell Kit, CSL Elite Pedals V2, all ClubSport Pedals), or connected to a PC via the ClubSport USB adapter, can be used with other wheel bases. Fanatec Shifters and Handbrakes can also be connected to a PC using the ClubSport USB adapter. 
 

All Fanatec accessories MUST be connected to a Fanatec wheel base to work on consoles. Learn more about Console compatibility here.

Can I use QR1 on these wheel bases?

All wheels and wheel bases purchased through Fanatec's website are QR2 by default. QR1 has been discontinued. Occasional QR1 stock can occasionally pop up on our website, but it's not guaranteed.
