One or two of the golden pins on my steering seem to be shorter than the others

All steering wheels come with 13 gold contact pins.

In some cases, one or two of these gold pins may be shorter than the others.

The shorter pin is designed to connect last, only after all the other pins have been connected.

This is part of what’s called a lagging electrical circuit, meaning the steering wheel only receives power once the circuit is fully closed.
