Pedals: A FAQ
When it comes to racing, arguably the most important part of your sim setup is the pedals. While a direct drive wheel base will give you important feedback on your car and track, your pedals play a major role in building consistency, accuracy, and thus faster lap times.
What is the difference between the Pedals?
CSL Pedals
The CSL Pedals are a great entry point for any sim racer. Being the most affordable option in Fanatec’s ecosystem, they feature a solid, all-metal design and magnetic Hall-effect sensors – meaning no wear on the sensors for consistent and precise performance.
The CSL Pedals are highly adjustable. The individual pedal unit placement and pedal plate height can be customized to find a position that works perfectly for you.
Additionally, the CSL Pedals offer three upgrade options:
The CSL Pedals Clutch Kit, which adds a third pedal to use as a Clutch – ideal for Rally or drifting.
-
The CSL Pedals Load Cell Kit also adds a third pedal and provides a more realistic brake feeling, since it measures pressure instead of pedal travel.
The Load Cell Kit replaces the standard brake pedal, which can then be used as the clutch.
It can be used in a two-pedal configuration, like for formula racing.
If you want a different set of pedal plates, the CSL Pedals Tuning Kit upgrade the pedal plates with anodised aluminium

If you do not have a Fanatec wheel base, you can also use the CSL Pedals standalone on PC. If you upgraded to the load cell pedal, the set can easily be connected via USB. For the standard set, the ClubSport USB Adapter will enable compatibility.
CSL Elite Pedals V2
The CSL Elite Pedals V2 are in the medium price range, and are a step-up from the CSL Pedals.
This three-pedal set also features Hall-effect sensors and includes a load cell brake pedal out of the box. The load cell offers dual-stage brake action with a coil spring and different elastomers, and can easily be adjusted with additional springs and elastomers (included in the box) for full customization.
The tool-free assembly makes these adjustments very quick and easy, and can be done within a few minutes.

Just like the CSL Pedals, the CSL Elite Pedals V2’s horizontal pedal spacing can be configured to your liking – including the option of removing the clutch pedal. The integrated USB port also makes this set compatible with PC as a standalone item.
ClubSport Pedals V3 (Standard and Inverted)

The ClubSport Pedals V3 represent the current highest tier in Fanatec’s lineup and come in two varieties: a standard layout and an Inverted layout.
Hall-effect sensors and a load cell brake deliver highest precision and consistent performance. Vibration motors on the throttle and brake pedal deliver additional feedback for wheel spin, oversteer, locking tires, and ABS.
The ClubSport Pedals V3 Inverted are based on the standard V3s, with some tweaks. The clutch and brake pivot points are inverted to the upper side of the pedals and attached to a very solid frame. The longer pedal travels and the pedal distances are inspired by real cars.
Both ClubSport Pedal sets are highly adjustable. Position of pedal plates in all directions, angle, spring strength at throttle and clutch, brake sensitivity, and brake travel can all be customized. They can also be upgraded with the ClubSport Pedals V3 Brake Performance Kit, allowing for adjustable pedal travel and resistance by mixing and matching various Elastomer springs together with the Polyurethane spring.
Both pedal sets can also be used standalone on PC via USB.

The Podium Pedals will ship in two distinct variations: the standard package will include all three pedals (Throttle, Brake, and Clutch); additionally, we'll also have the Podium Pedals Formula, a two-pedal set (Throttle/Brake) with Formula-style carbon fiber heel rests and pedal plates for an immersive feel, with optional grip tape (included) to increase friction on the pedal faces.

Both variations of the pedals will have internal memory, which means you can adjust the pedal curves and dead zones through the Fanatec app and save them directly to the Pedals, so they'll work on consoles.
Additionally, an optional Pedal Plate featuring the standard Fanatec pedal mounting pattern will be available separately.
Can you use the Pedals on Console?
All pedals are compatible with PC. They are also fully compatible with both PlayStation and Xbox consoles when plugged into a Fanatec wheel base (with the correct compatibility).
