Modular Wheels: A FAQ
Why Modular Wheels?
In addition to our lineup of fully built steering wheels, we also offer modular components designed to attach to the front of a Fanatec "Hub". These can be customized with a variety of wheel rims and additional modules.
Hubs
We have three options of Fanatec hubs to choose from: the CSL Universal Hub V2, the ClubSport Universal Hub V2, and the Podium Hub.
CSL Universal Hub V2
The CSL Universal Hub V2 is a great choice for entry-level sim racing. This hub is budget-friendly while still allowing for high torque mode.
ClubSport Universal Hub V2
The ClubSport Universal Hub V2 is a great option for those who want more customization options and additional module support.
This hub comes with 4 button box cluster and the Fanatec FunkySwitch and comes equipped with the ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module. Sim racers looking to add analog paddles for clutch or throttle/brake control within the reach of your fingertips can upgrade to the Podium Advanced Paddle Module. The hub also comes with an aluminum QR by default.
The ClubSport Universal Hub V2 is also available in a specific Xbox-compatible variant that enables Xbox compatibility for Xbox One and Series X | S.
Podium Hub
Podium Hub is directly inspired by real racing cars. Its simplicity allows the user to fully customize their sim racing experience and avoid investing in features that may not be needed.
Based on your needs, the Podium Hub can be combined with a ClubSport Button Cluster Pack, Podium Advanced Paddle Module, or ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module. The result is a lighter and more rigid steering wheel, ready to provide you with a great instrument for the toughest races. It also comes with an aluminum QR by default. In addition, with the Podium Hub, third-party steering wheels that have their own USB interface can be integrated into the Fanatec ecosystem.
Regarding Console Compatibility
The FANATEC® ecosystem is unique in both variety and flexibility, but it's important to be aware of what will work for each platform.
In the context of the Fanatec hubs, all three hubs (CSL, ClubSport, and Podium Hub) are fully compatible with PC, and are PS-ready when connected to a PlayStation-licensed wheel base. However, the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox is the ONLY hub compatible with Xbox consoles.
Can I use third-party wheel rims?
Our Fanatec Hubs can also support third-party wheel rims, as long as they support 6x70mm or 3x50mm bolt patterns.
Wheel Rims
Like our steering wheels, our wheel rims also come in three tiers (CSL, ClubSport, Podium), and a variety of shapes and styles (GT, F1, Rally, and Drifting).
What do these different shapes and styles mean?

GT Racing
GT (aka Gran Touring) Racing may be described as a premier form of motorsport. These cars normally use round, D-shaped, or open-top butterfly-shaped wheels.
Great examples of this include the Podium Wheel Rim Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, the ClubSport Wheel Rim GT, and the ClubSport Wheel Rim GT3 Endurance.

F1
Formula 1 (and Formula racing as a whole) use single seater cars capable of extreme speeds. These cars are driven with compact, open-ended rectangular or butterfly shapes.
A great example of this is the ClubSport Wheel Rim Sparco® Formula.

Rally & Drifting
Rally and Difting are unique types of racing. In Rally, racers compete in off-road courses, with a spotter as a passenger to help navigate the course as they go. Drifting, meanwhile, is a driving style that will test your ability to navigate tight corners with speed by sliding the car to turn.
Rally and drifting vehicles are usually equipped with round wheels. The ClubSport Wheel Rim Drift is a great option for this, as are the ClubSport Wheel Rim R320 and R330.
Additional Accessories
In addition to customizability, both the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 (both standard and Xbox) and Podium Hub support button modules through their included USB-C ports.
We offer two variants of button modules: the Podium Button Module Endurance and the Podium Button Module Rally. Both modules cater to different racing styles and needs, so let's break down the differences:

Podium Button Module Endurance
The Podium Button Module Endurance is designed primarily with endurance racing in mind, offering an ergonomic layout that suits long sessions where accessibility and comfort are paramount.
As part of that design, the Podium Button Module Endurance features a total of 12 buttons, including several rotary encoders, allowing drivers to make rapid adjustments to settings like traction control, brake bias, or fuel mixture without taking their eyes off the track. The large buttons are designed for easy access, are spaced out to reduce the likelihood of accidental presses, and offer tactile feedback that helps prevent misclicks.
The module features a minimalist design, with no overwhelming visual clutter, allowing the driver to focus on the race without being distracted by unnecessary controls. Additionally, its 2/7" OLED display with ITM (Intelligent Telemetry Mode) support can show detailed information, including many telemetry data types at once, with five different game telemetry data layouts.
Simply put, the Podium Button Module Endurance is a versatile module that can be mounted on various ClubSport or Podium wheel rims and provides comfort and reliability for long-distance racing.

Podium Button Module Rally
In contrast, the Podium Button Module Rally is specifically tailored for rally and off-road racing, with a higher emphasis on versatility.
This module comes with 9 buttons, two 5-way d-pads, three 12-way multi-position switches, and a layout geared toward fast-paced, in-the-moment decisions, where a rally driver needs instant access to key functions like traction control, map adjustments, and power delivery.
The Rally module has buttons larger and more prominent, which is beneficial for drivers needing to differentiate controls without looking down. This design is essential when navigating rough terrains where the driver’s hands may not always be in a fixed position on the wheel. This is a button module that prioritizes function over form, with robust buttons that offer firm, tactile feedback, while being built to withstand the abrupt and intense movements characteristic of rally racing.
