Manual Installation of the Video File for the Podium Steering Wheel Bentley GT3
If the video file cannot be installed through the regular method or if it shows version 0.0.0.0 and says it’s "up-to-date," please perform the following steps:
- Remove the steering wheel from your wheel base
- Start your Windows PC
- Ensure the Fanatec app is up-to-date - the latest version can be downloaded here
- Click here to download the ZIP video file
- Note, the file is approximately 1.5 GB, so the download may take a few minutes
- Extract the contents of the ZIP file to the desktop on your PC
- Connect the steering wheel to your PC using the supplied USB-C cable
- Open the Fanatec app
- In the app click on "View and Manage Firmware Updates" in the top-right corner
- The app will close, and the firmware updater will open
- In the firmware updater, your Bentley steering wheel should appear
- Now, check the box in the top-right corner for "Manual Firmware Update / Device Recovery"
- A box should appear next to the steering wheel display in the firmware updater with the text highlighted in green, "Manual Steering Wheel Video Firmware Update", click on it
- A small window will appear
- Click on "Yes" if you’ve already downloaded and unpacked the video file on your desktop
The window for flashing the firmware will now appear
In the Target field, switch the selection from "Wheel Base Main PCBA or another one" to "USB Steering Wheel"
In the field below, select the video file
To do this, click the button with the three dots (…) on the right side, choose the file, and then click "Flash Firmware"
On the steering wheel display, you should now see the green Bentley silhouette with the message "Flashing…"
Do not disconnect the steering wheel from your PC at this stage
Due to the file size, this process may take around five minutes
Wait until the update is complete
When the update finishes successfully, a small window will appear
Once you click "Yes", the firmware manager will come back, and the video file firmware should display version 1.0.2.0. instead of 0.0.0.0.
