Wheel Bases - Red Mode vs. Yellow Mode - Compatibility with Older Games

Some older PC racing games may not correctly recognize newer wheel bases like the Podium DD (25NM), CS DD or GT DD Pro. This can happen with very old titles or in games that no longer receive updates or support from the developer. In these cases, the wheel base may not be properly detected or supported in-game.

This is exactly why our wheel bases have two different modes for use on PC:

Native PC mode = LED is shining red

(Note: You can also create a custom controller profile within the game and manually assign all functions. However, this is only possible if the device is recognized in-game as "Fanatec Wheel". If this is not the case, the compatibility (Comp) mode should be used instead).

Compatibility PC mode = LED is shining yellow

When the wheel base is set to yellow mode, it changes its device ID to emulate the older ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5. This allows older games to recognize the wheel base, provided that the CSW V2.5 was already supported and implemented in the respective game.
