GT DD Pro - PlayStation Blue Mode vs. Purple Mode – Compatibility with Older Games

In some cases, older PlayStation games may not properly recognize newer racing wheel bases. This can occur in titles such as F1 2020 on PlayStation, or in other games that were released for earlier console generations.

If a wheel base is not detected or not fully supported in-game, it is often because the title is too old and no longer receives updates from the developer. As a result, newer hardware may not have been originally implemented in the game.

This is exactly why the wheel base has two different modes for use on PlayStation:

Native PS mode = LED is shining blue

&

Compatibility PS mode = LED is shining purple

When the wheel base is set to purple mode, it changes its device ID to emulate the older CSL Elite Wheel Base+ PS4. This allows older games to recognize the device, provided that the CSL E WB+ was already supported and implemented in the respective game.
