Wheel Base Torque FAQ
Our wheel bases do vary in torque performance, and this FAQ may answer questions you may have.
Which wheel bases have limited torque?
Our wheel bases can handle a wide amount of torque, but not everything can handle higher torque. Our wheel bases are limited to a maximum torque of 8 Nm when used with one of the following wheels:
This limitation applies even when upgrading these steering wheels to a QR2 or QR2 Pro quick release, regardless of what wheel base is in use (e.g. Podium DD will still cap at 8nm when using these wheels).
The torque limitation is due to the design of the steering wheels, as their designs do not allow for more torque.
This restriction is noted on the product pages of these wheels with the following badge:
What is the maximum FFB strength of the wheel bases you offer?
The torque of your sim racing wheel base is one of the key factors in defining the realism and immersion of your driving experience. Choosing the right torque depends on your budget, your driving experience, your intended sim racing rig, and even your physical condition.
Our wheelbase catalogue offers a wide range of torque levels:
PODIUM DD (2026) | up to 25 Nm of holding torque (33 Nm of peak overshoot- more on that here.)
PODIUM DD2 | up to 25 Nm (discontinued)
PODIUM DD1 | up to 20 Nm (discontinued)
PODIUM DD1 PS4 | up to 20 Nm (discontinued)
ClubSport DD+ | up to 18 Nm*
ClubSport DD | up to 15 Nm*
CSL DD Series | up to 5 Nm (8 Nm with the Boost Kit 180)
Gran Turismo DD Pro series | up to 5 Nm (8 Nm with the Boost Kit 180)
*The ClubSport DD and DD+ had a torque increase in May 2026. To get these, make sure you're on the current build of the Fanatec app.
What is the Boost Kit 180?
The Boost Kit 180 is a power supply designed to enhance the performance of the CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro wheel bases by increasing their maximum torque from 5 Nm to 8 Nm.
It includes an 180W power supply specifically tailored for these wheel bases, ensuring safe and optimal operation without compromising the durability of the wheel base.
Which wheel bases currently support FullForce
As of June 2026, FullForce is supported by the CSL DD, Gran Turismo® DD Pro, ClubSport DD, ClubSport DD+, and the Podium DD (25 Nm) wheel bases. Future Fanatec wheel bases are expected to support this feature as well.
What is the holding torque of CS DD and ClubSport DD?
The ClubSport DD is available in two different torque levels.
The CS DD has a holding torque of 12 Nm, and the CS DD+ has a holding torque of 15 Nm.
Additionally, the CS DD+ is PlayStation compatible.
