PlayStation Compatibility FAQ
Fanatec offers a couple of wheelbase options that would allow PlayStation compatibility. This article covers some general questions that we commonly see.
To learn more about how compatibility works, feel free to review this article.
Do I need to get a specific steering wheel to race on PlayStation?
Nope! PlayStation compatibility does not depend on the steering wheel itself. PlayStation compatibility is built exclusively into select wheelbases. As long as the wheelbase is PlayStation-compatible, you are free to use any compatible steering wheel or hub, including any wheels that were officially designed or supported for Xbox.
Button mappings and platform-specific controls (for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation) can be found in the quick guide of the respective wheel.
What can I use with PlayStation 5?
The following wheel bases are PlayStation compatible:
- Gran Turismo DD Pro
- CSL Elite Wheel Base+ (no longer available)
- Podium DD1 PS4 version (no longer available)
- ClubSport DD+
These wheel bases are officially licensed for both PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5 consoles.
Are current PlayStation-compatible wheel bases compatible with legacy PlayStation hardware?
Our PlayStation-compatible wheel bases are officially licensed for use with PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5.
They are not compatible with PlayStation®3, PlayStation®2, or PlayStation®1.
