Self Help - Pedals are not detected by the wheel base
In order to cross out an issue on the hardware side, we recommend performing the following:
1. Make sure that the wiring of the pedals is correct by following this link to our quick guide, and taking a close look at the section labeled 'Connections'.
2. Connect the pedals via RJ12 to the pedal port of your Fanatec wheel base, and check the inputs of the pedals in the Fanatec Control Panel. (Warning: Do not connect the pedals via both RJ12 and USB at the same time, as this can result in permanent damage to the pedals, or the Main PCBA!)
3. Inspect both throttle and brake vibration motor cables thoroughly, and check for any damages or cuts which may have occurred during the installation of the Brake Performance Kit, or Damper Kit.
On the software side, please connect your pedals to your PC via USB and perform the following troubleshooting steps:
4. Reset your device By following this link, you will find a video illustrating how to perform the process.
5. Check for any pending Windows updates. These should also be performed if available.
6. Make sure to have any antivirus program(s) disabled before installing the latest Fanatec Driver Package.
7. Download and install the latest Fanatec Driver Package. You can install the latest Fanatec Driver Package via this link.
8. Update the firmware of the pedals by using the Firmware Manager. If the latest firmware is already installed, please click on 'Manual Firmware Update' in the top right corner of the update page, and follow the steps shown on screen.
In case the issue persists, we advise opening a support ticket. In order to speed up the support process, it would be helpful if you could also provide us with the following additional information:,
- Did the issue occur out of the box?
- Does a specific sequence of events need to happen for the issue to appear?
- Does the issue happen after a change in your setup, such as upgrading or replacing existing software or hardware?
- If available, try and use another RJ12-RJ12 cable.
- A short video illustrating the issue.
