Self Help - The wheel base powers on in ‘UPDATE MODE - Wireless Quick Release’ - Initialization process is not possible
In order to cross out an issue on the software side, we recommend performing the following steps:
1. Remove any steering wheels from your wheel base.
2. Make sure to have your wheel base connected to a Windows PC via a USB connection cable. Do not use a USB hub or a USB extension cable, in order to prevent any issues. We always recommend plugging the device directly to one of the USB ports located on your PC's motherboard!
3. Uninstall the current Fanatec Driver Package.
4. Check for any pending Windows updates. These should also be performed if available.
5. Make sure to have any antivirus program(s) disabled before installing the latest Fanatec Driver Package.
6. Download and install the older Fanatec Driver Package 439 by following this link.
7. Enter the bootloader mode of the wheelbase by holding down the power button for 8 seconds, and flash the wheel base firmware from the Fanatec Driver Package 439 which was just installed.
8. Now, download and install the latest Fanatec Driver Package 447 by following this link.
9. Perform the firmware update, but run the automatic update process, so the Motor Firmware is flashed before the wheel base firmware!
10. Once you have performed the steps listed above, open the Fanatec Control Panel, and verify the proper functionality of your device(s).
In case it is still not possible to perform the firmware updates, we advise opening a support ticket. In order to speed up the process, it would be helpful if you could also provide us with the following additional information.
