Self Help - Wheel base is not recognized by a PlayStation 4 or 5
In order to cross out an issue on the hardware side, we recommend performing the following:
1. Check the USB port on the back side of the wheel base, as well as the USB cable, for any damages.
2. Connect the wheelbase to a different USB port on the PlayStation, and test the connection to the console.
3. Make sure that the wheel base is not connected via USB hubs or extension cables. Either of these can affect the connectivity of the wheel base to the console or PC.
On the software side, we recommend checking the following:
4. Check for any pending Windows updates. These should also be performed if available.
5. Make sure to have any antivirus program(s) disabled before installing the latest Fanatec Driver Package.
6. Download and install the latest Fanatec Driver Package. You can install the latest Fanatec Driver Package via this link.
7. Open the Fanatec Control Panel, click on the 'Firmware Update' tab, and perform all of the firmware updates for the listed devices which require one. The 'Firmware Update' tab will also show you the version for each individual device, and whether or not they are already up-to-date.
In case the issue persists, we advise opening a support ticket. In order to speed up the support process, it would be helpful if you could also provide us with the following additional information:
- Did the issue occur out of the box?
- Does a specific sequence of events need to happen for the issue to appear?
- Does the issue happen after a change in your setup, such as upgrading or replacing existing software or hardware?
- Which Fanatec Driver Package and firmware versions are currently installed? You can find the version numbers on the bottom left hand-side of the Fanatec Control Panel.
- Have you tried using an older driver and the included firmware files? If not, follow this link for alternative driver packages.
- A short video illustrating the issue.
