I keep getting a prompt to update the firmware for 'P DD Quick Release' every time I start my Podium DD1 base.
In order to cross out an issue on the software side, we recommend performing the following:
Remove the steering wheel from the wheel base.
Check the USB port on the back of the wheel base, as well as the USB cable, for any signs of damage.
Make sure the wheel base is connected directly to a Windows PC via USB.
Please do not use a USB hub or USB extension cable, as this can cause general connection issues.
We always recommend connecting the device directly to one of the available USB ports on your PC’s mainboard.
If no visible hardware issues are present, try starting the wheel base in bootloader mode.
To do this, press and hold the power button for at least 8 seconds while the wheel base is connected to your PC via USB and the Fanatec app/driver is installed.
The firmware updater will then appear on your PC screen, allowing you to perform/re-flash the update.
Before clicking 'Flash Firmware' in the new window, you will find a special file attached below this article that can help bring your wheel base back to life.
Please save it to the PC where our driver is installed.
Instead of clicking on "Flash Firmware", please click on the three dots for additional options.
Select the file attached here from your PC.
Only now, please click "Flash Firmware".
Don't worry about the noises your wheel-base will probably show afterwards (during the update process), they are as usual with this file.
Should you get any error message, please create a screenshot and share it with us.
Once you have performed the steps listed above, open the Fanatec app again and verify the proper functionality of your device(s).
We also suggest double-checking in game.
If the issue persists, we recommend that you submit a ticket to our technical support team for further assistance.
