Modes Accessible on all Wheel Bases

RED - Native PC Mode

RED indicates that the wheel base is in native PC mode. This is what the wheelbase should be set to by default for games and for when updating the firmware of any Fanatec product. 

Most modern games support this operating mode, and this mode is what the Fanatec app uses to connect to the games for ITM Telemetry, Tuning, and Displays. 

You can also create a custom controller profile within a supported game and manually assign all functions. However, this is only possible if the device is recognized in-game as "Fanatec Wheel". If this is not the case, the compatibility mode should be used instead.

YELLOW - PC Compatibility Mode

Some older PC racing games may not correctly recognize newer wheel bases like the Gran Turismo DD Pro, ClubSport series, or Podium DD (2026).

This can happen with very old titles that no longer receive updates or support from the developer. In these cases, the wheel base may not be properly detected or supported.

That's where PC Compatibility Mode comes in. When the YELLOW light is set on the wheel base, the wheel base will adjust its device ID to emulate the ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5 (2017). 

This allows older games to recognize the wheel base, as long as they supported the ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5 initially.

GREEN - Xbox Mode

If the LED on the power button is set to GREEN, the wheel base is in Xbox mode. This allows the wheel base to be detected on both Xbox One and Xbox Series S | X. 

Xbox mode is only accessible when an Xbox-compatible wheel is connected to the wheel base. You can learn more about how Xbox compatibility works here.

Modes Exclusive to the Gran Turismo DD Pro and ClubSport DD+

While the Gran Turismo DD Pro and ClubSport DD+ have similar operating modes, there are some differences that are worth discussing.

DARK BLUE - PlayStation Mode

DARK BLUE is considered to be the native PlayStation mode and is what the wheel base should be set for PlayStation 5.

The Gran Turismo DD Pro also uses this mode for PlayStation 4.

LIGHT BLUE - PlayStation 4 Mode

Exclusive to the ClubSport DD+

The ClubSport DD+ was released and designed after the launch of the PlayStation 5. Since many PlayStation 4 titles do not support the ClubSport DD+, a specific PlayStation 4 mode was built into the wheelbase to counter that. 

When the power button LED is LIGHT BLUE, the DD+ will adjust its device ID to emulate the Gran Turismo DD Pro. 

PURPLE - PlayStation Compatibility Mode

The Gran Turismo DD Pro and ClubSport DD+'s PlayStation 4 mode will be able to handle most games, as long as they enabled support for the Gran Turismo DD Pro when it launched in November 2021. 

Not every PlayStation title was updated to support these newer wheelbases, so older games like F1 2020 or the original Project CARS (2015) won't be recognized on the standard PlayStation mode (or the DD+ PlayStation 4 mode), since they were released long before the Gran Turismo DD Pro and ClubSport DD+.

This was planned for, so the Gran Turismo DD Pro and ClubSport DD+ have a specific PlayStation compatibility mode. When the Power LED is PURPLE, the wheel base will adjust its device ID to emulate the CSL Elite+ Wheel Base (2018), which was designed for PlayStation 4.
